Volunteer details

Since 1938, the Winter Haven Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary has provided thousands of hours of volunteer support to Winter Haven Hospital. The Auxiliary has also donated thousands of dollars to help finance hospital building projects, purchase new equipment and sponsor healthcare related programs. These contributions continue to grow as an example of the Auxiliary's continued support of Winter Haven Hospital's mission. The Auxiliary is a vital and integral part of the Hospital team. The Auxiliary operates the hospital's gift shops located at the Winter Haven Women's Hospital, Winter Haven Hospital and at the Gil Jones Center. The ongoing service of the Auxiliary touches the lives of many patients, visitors, physicians and employees alike. There are more than 350 volunteers devoting time to Winter Haven Hospital and they range in age from 15 to the 90's. Training is provided and each volunteer becomes acquainted and familiarized with Winter Haven Hospital and the Volunteer Services Department by attending a comprehensive orientation program.
