Volunteer details

Volunteerism, the spirit in action of providing for and helping, is an Old Line State tradition of “doing for others” that made Maryland a colony of tolerant gentlepersons. The volunteers of the Western Maryland Hospital Center carry on that tradition as well. There have been active volunteers at the hospital since the doors opened in 1957. The purpose of the Volunteer Services department is to enhance the amount and the quality of services provided to the patients, and to facilitate a positive relationship between the community and the patients. There are many volunteer opportunities available at the hospital. While some assignments are structured as to particular days and times, others are suited to your schedule. Our goal is to serve the patient the best way we can as well as make it easy and enjoyable for the volunteer.
