SRMC deeply appreciates the volunteers who assist with the day-to-day tasks that keep our patients comfortable, and our hospital running smoothly. In fact, we simply couldn’t operate successfully without these energetic women and men! Our staff of volunteers is coordinated through The Auxiliary of Sumner Regional Medical Center, and are asked to sign up for three hours each week. Duties can include: managing the gift shop, delivering flowers and mail, and escorting patients to and from the lab, x-ray, and physical therapy departments. We’re proud to say that since 1971, Auxiliary volunteers have contributed a total of 185,000 hours of their valuable time in the service of others. In 2006 and 2007, our volunteer team was awarded the Gold Award of Excellence from the Kansas Auxiliaries of Kansas through the Kansas Hospital Association, and also honored at the 2007 Kansas Hospital Association Trade Show and Convention for their continued dedication.
