At Shriners Hospitals for Children - Shreveport, volunteers are an invaluable part of our philosophy of care. Whether it’s working behind the scenes or interacting with patients, families and staff, every volunteer position is important and provides a genuine service to our hospital and patients.

Application process

If you are interested in applying to become a volunteer you may download a volunteer application. Applications may be printed, completed legibly by hand and mailed, or completed on the computer and emailed to the volunteer coordinator listed on the application. All hospital volunteers must: Be at least 16 years of age; Commit to a minimum six month service period; Submit to a complete background check, including references, criminal records and child abuse history; Undergo a two-part tuberculosis test; Pass a drug screening test; Attend a comprehensive orientation prior to beginning your volunteer position
