Sentara CarePlex Hospital has approximately 250 volunteers including 60 Junior volunteers from the community. Volunteers are active in hospital patient care areas, gift shop, medical records, security, and numerous other hospital areas. In addition to coordinating large fund raising events benefiting Sentara CarePlex Hospital, volunteers provide complimentary daily newspapers to hospitalized patients. The Auxiliary also operates the Sentara Auxiliary Gift Shop located in the hospital lobby. The Junior Volunteer program is a year-round program for students who volunteer in the summer program.
