The Salvation Army provides services to every zip code in Connecticut and Rhode Island and works diligently to fulfill its promise of "Doing the Most Good," for the most people, in the most need. The basic operating unit of The Salvation Army is the Corps Community Center. However, in areas that do not have a physical location such as a Corps, The Salvation Army’s Service Extension program helps to ensure that needs are still met. The Salvation Army’s Service Units are made possible by working with volunteer committees, consisting of local citizens, to identify and meet community needs, and to network with statewide Salvation Army programs. Volunteers receive specialized training to prepare them to work collaboratively with local agencies to utilize funding entrusted to them by The Salvation Army and assist others in need in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
