The overall goal of the Volunteer Program is to assist Rio Grande Hospital with its mission: “Health Care Needs of the Western San Luis Valley Community are Met”. Volunteers assist our staff in providing many services that may otherwise not be furnished. An attempt is made to place volunteers in assignments where their talents and interests can be best utilized. Staff members are grateful for volunteer assistance and appreciate their energy, enthusiasm and dedication. The Hospital benefits from the insight volunteers bring and the information they take back to the community. Our volunteers come from different areas and educational backgrounds. Volunteers must complete a basic application, pass background checks and complete orientation before being assigned to volunteer duties.
