Fourth Street Clinic relies on hundreds of community volunteers each year to provide the comprehensive medical care and support services we offer to our patients. Our volunteers are dedicated and committed to ensuring homeless Utahns have the same access to and quality of health care that we all enjoy and deserve. Volunteers range from large groups giving a few hours a day through United Way-s Day of Caring, to off-site specialty providers seeing patients on a referral basis, to on-site clinicians and doctors serving our homeless patients at the clinic, some of whom have been with us for more than a decade, such as Dr. Ruth Ann Smith (2008 Utah Business Health Care Hero volunteer award recipient) and Dr. Hal Cole (2011 Utah Business Health Care Hero volunteer award recipient).
