Volunteers at O’Connor Hospital have a long tradition of bringing comfort and care to patients, families and loved ones. Volunteers enhance the service resources provided at O’Connor Hospital. Since the program began in 1952 our volunteers have donated more than 2 million hours of service. Being an O’Connor Volunteer offers many benefits to those who participate, including opportunities to give back to our community and exposure to the hospital environment for those interested in healthcare careers. We have a variety of Volunteer programs are available for individuals 15 years and older. Application process

Adult Volunteer: Submit online application. Complete phone screen review with Volunteer Service representative: If selected an interview will be scheduled; You will be asked to bring your available vaccination & immunity records to the interview; Other documents such as Social Security card, etc. may be requested as well. Complete interview including vaccination/immunity documentation review for Health Clearance requirements, completion ofbackground check release. Complete ReadySet account setup and surveys. Complete all outstanding Health Clearance requirements.Health Clearance packet will be submitted to Employee Health only after all required information has been submitted. Health Clearance packet submitted by Volunteer Office to Employee Health. Employee Health reviews all records submitted in Health Clearance packet and either clears or requests more information. Once health cleared you will be notified and scheduled to meet with Volunteer Service to finalize placement, complete orientation meeting and finalize training schedule. Junior Volunteer: Submit online application.Complete interview including documentation submission for review of all Health Clearance requirements. Complete ReadySet account setup and surveys. Complete all outstanding Health Clearance requirements. Health Clearance packet will be submitted to Employee Health only after all required information has been submitted.Health Clearance packet submitted to Employee Health.Employee Health reviews all records submitted in Health Clearance packet and either clears or requests more information. Complete and submit Parental Permission documents and referrals from school. Once health cleared we will schedule Placement & Orientation meeting and make training schedule arrangements.
