Northwest Hospital relies on the energy, expertise and kindness of its dedicated volunteers. Our volunteers spend countless hours visiting our patients as well as working in the gift shop and in offices. Northwest Hospital has volunteers from high school/college students to senior adults. Student Volunteer Internship Program; Summer Student Volunteer Program; Adult Volunteer Program
Admitting: Greet and escort patients, collate chart materials; Clerical: Filing, copying, collating information or charts, statistical summaries, information verification, and data processing; Emergency Department; Fund Raising; Gift Shop; Information Desk: Greet visitors, provide information and directions, escort visitors and deliver flowers, packages and mail; Mail Center; Maintenance: Check and repair equipment and furniture, make signs and paint; Path Finder: Greet visitors, help them navigate the hospital and escort them as necessary; Patient Advocate
Community members who are interested in volunteering at Northwest Hospital, must complete the following steps: Complete an application; Interview with the Volunteer Coordinator; Obtain a TST test; Attend OSHA training and volunteer orientation; Agree to a criminal background check; Northwest Hospital requires adult volunteers to commit to a minimum of 100 hours. Volunteers are required to work one three-hour shift once a week, however multiple weekly shifts are available.
