1. Fill out an online application. 2. Recommendation letter. 3. Interview. 4. Orientation class. Part I - You will be asked to attend a one and a half to two hour orientation class which is usually scheduled once a month. A portion of the orientation will be a take home test to be completed at your leisure. Part II - Once you have completed your take home test, call the volunteer office to schedule Part II of your Volunteer Orientation. You will turn in your completed test, receive your name badge and volunteer polo, fill out paperwork for your background check and be scheduled for your drug screening. We will also train you on the use of our volunteer tracking program - Volgistics. 5. Department Training. Volunteer training is provided in order for volunteers to feel confident in their assistance to patients and families. You will be assigned a volunteer trainer who will provide training in your volunteer department and give you the opportunity to shadow them until you feel comfortable enough to be on your own.
