Volunteers contribute in many ways providing comfort, care and unexpected joy to the children and families in the hospital, as well as supporting the professional staff. We are excited and want to thank you for your interest in wanting to volunteer at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. The Volunteer Resources Department orients, interviews, trains and places all qualified who want to volunteer. We enthusiastically welcome individuals of all backgrounds and abilities. Application process

Application Procedure: Email completed application form to volunteer.resources@nicklaushealth.org. Include immunizations or titers for MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella (Chicken Pox), if available. You will be sent an Orientation invitation after your application has been received. If you have any questions, contact the Volunteer Resources Department at 305-662-8225 or email us. Fax Number 305-662-8356. Orientations & Training: Orientation attendance is required and provided by the Volunteer Resources Department. The Volunteer Orientation takes approximately two to three hours. Additional training may be required based on placement assignment. Interview: After attending a Volunteer Orientation you will be scheduled to have an interview. The purpose of the interview is to help us and you become acquainted and decide if you will be accepted to join our volunteer program, as well as determine volunteer placement and schedule. Volunteer assignments and placements are not guaranteed and are based on availability and the outcome of the interview. Criminal Background Check: Social security number will be required to complete an online criminal background check at the time of your interview. Uniform: All volunteers purchase and wear a volunteer uniform.
