It takes a special person to give a part of themselves to others. Each volunteer may have joined for different reasons, but the end result of their contributions is the same – helping patients at Miller Children’s. For more information about volunteer opportunities at this hospital, visit the Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach volunteer website.
Adult Programs; Volunteens; Grandparents Volunteer Program
To begin the process of becoming a part of the Adult Service Volunteer team, potential volunteers need to contact the Child Life Department at (562) 933-8060. At that time, an in-person interview will be scheduled to discuss the potential volunteer’s interests, skills, and availability. Once accepted, documentation of the volunteer’s immunization history, including measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox and tetanus along with the results of a tuberculin skin test will be required. Volunteers must also consent to a security background check.
