We have a very active volunteer program that includes adults, teens and Miami University students. Adults may volunteer in the following areas gift Shop, surgical Host/Hostess, Courtesy Volunteer ,Obstetrics, Office Assistance,Inpatient Care, Oncology Center, Same Day Surgery and Ross Facility. We ask that Miami student volunteers commit to at least two semesters, and average two to four hours of service per week. General Orientation Classes are scheduled in the fall and late winter months, and are required prior to volunteering. You must be 15 years of age or entering your sophomore year in high school to be a Teen Volunteer. Filling out an application does not assure placement into the program due to a limited number of openings. Volunteers are chosen based on qualifications and interests.Teen Volunteers are expected to give an average of two to three hours a week, for minimum of 75 hours per year. Considering vacations, this will take about 10-12 months. Teens also may volunteer eight to 10 hours per week during the summer. The Teen Orientation Class is held in May.
