Volunteering is a wonderful way to gain exposure to the medical community, explore careers, enhance your knowledge and give back to Marlborough Hospital. Through volunteering, you’ll find a challenging and satisfying experience while performing a valuable service to your community hospital and a warm and caring environment for patients and their families. Volunteers at UMass Memorial - Marlborough Hospital are highly valued members of our team and are vitally important to patient satisfaction, care and recovery. Our volunteers are dedicated individuals who provide a welcoming environment for patients and families, while sharing their time, talent and enthusiasm. Volunteer Services connects skilled volunteers with the opportunity to provide help and hope to our patients, guests and staff. We aim to be compassionate listeners and caring contributors to the hospital community. On average, more than 150 volunteers give 20,000 hours to Marlborough Hospital each year. Front Desk Greeter; Patient Transport; Well Wishes Gift Shop; Office assistant/clerical; Patient Registration; Emergency Room (18 years and older); Spiritual Care
You have to be 15 years old to volunteer; Pass a TB screening; Background check; Vaccination history up to date; Commit to 100 hours of service each calendar year. Part of this process includes each applicant being personally interviewed and placed in a position compatible with the applicant’s interests and the current needs of the hospital.
