We're always looking for people like you who can make a difference. Our volunteers at Los Alamitos Medical Center run our gift shop, greet visitors, escort patients and more. Our volunteers even help local students who are pursuing careers in healthcare-related fields by providing scholarships from proceeds earned through gift shop sales. Our volunteers commit to 100 hours of service per year and must be available year-round. Our volunteers pay dues of $10 per year. We provide a turquoise blue jacket to be worn over a white shirt. White pants, shoes and socks complete the uniform. Other important things to know about volunteering are: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old; Volunteer service rarely, if ever, leads to a paid position as a hospital employee; Volunteers do not work in the pharmacy; Volunteers must be available year-round. (There is no program for summer and school breaks); Volunteers do not work in any clinical capacity, even if you are a nursing or other clinical student. For more information about volunteer opportunities at this hospital, visit the Los Alamitos Medical Center volunteer website.

Era
High School with a strong interest in pursuing a career in medicine. I am reaching out to inquire if there might be any opportunities available to shadow a doctor at Los Alamitos Medical Center. I believe this experience would provide invaluable insights into the medical field and help further my passion for healthcare.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance or information you could provide regarding potential shadowing opportunities. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
