Hill Country Memorial Health System is the area's greatest volunteer effort. Volunteers serve without pay or special benefits in many areas of the system including on the governing board that holds the responsibility for overseeing all facets of the system. These duties include strategic planning, finances, employee benefits and risk management.Other activities include:

> Driving visitors from the parking lot to the hospital's front door
