When you volunteer, you follow in the footsteps of Christ by helping others. Franciscan Health's volunteers help hospital personnel deliver quality healthcare by assisting with non-medical tasks. Many volunteer opportunities are available at Franciscan Health, some of which include: service, auxiliary fundraising, clerical support and spiritual care. Service volunteers provide non-medical assistance, which aids our patients and visitors. Some service tasks include: mail and flower delivery, information desk, patient escort, registration, emergency department, hospice, food & nutrition service and more. Auxiliary volunteers assist with fundraising efforts that benefit our hospital departments and programs. Your gift of time truly makes a difference in the lives of our patients and community.

We ask Volunteers to commit to volunteering for one 4 hour shift a week for a minimum of 50 hours or if you are a student, one semester (5 months). Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. The process starts with attending a one hour orientation session. At orientation you will learn about the types of volunteer positions we have available, the benefits of volunteering, our commitment to provide you with a positive volunteer experience and our expectations of Volunteers. During orientation, you may ask whatever questions you have about volunteering. Generally, a volunteer assignment will be offered to you within 10 days of attending orientation. Your assignment is dependent on your availability and your interests. We do reserve the right to not place an individual that may be interested in volunteering.
