The Auxiliary of Doctors Hospital of Sarasota was formed in 1967. Through the years, our dedicated family of volunteers has contributed countless valuable hours of service to patients, their families, hospital staff, and physicians. With their genuine caring attitudes, our volunteers provide a superb personal touch to each patient's hospital stay. The services performed by our volunteers are measured in hours. However, the contribution of our Auxiliary family cannot be adequately reflected in hours alone. The benefits of our program for our patients – the extra helping hands, smiles, and compassion - add to the quality of each patient's care and simply cannot be measured. Our volunteers come from all walks of life bringing a variety of skills and abilities with them to help improve the lives of others. Volunteers at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota include retirees, professionals, former patients, homemakers, military personnel. and students who share a common goal: to help others.
