Deaconess would not be the successful organization it is today without the thousands of volunteers who have supported our endeavors. Since our founding in 1892, volunteerism has played a critical role in the growth and development of the health system. We continue to need volunteers to help us meet our mission of providing high-quality, compassionate care to the community. Application process

The first step in becoming a volunteer is to complete an application. Those age 14-17 years old must complete a Junior Volunteer Application and individuals 18 years and older should complete an Adult Application. Adults applicants should contact the volunteer manager once the application has been completed at 812-450-2235 to schedule an interview. Junior volunteer applicants and their parent/guardian should complete the application and submit it to the student’s school counselor for final completion and submission to the Volunteer Office. The students will be contacted for an interview by a panel of adult volunteers.
