In their 50th year of service, Lynchburg General Hospital boasts an auxiliary of 434 active, dedicated volunteers and 104 teen volunteers. Last year they gave in excess of 65,925 hours of service. Our volunteers serve in many areas of Centra Health and work long and hard to raise and donate funds for state-of-the-art equipment, neighborhood clinics and the construction of guest rooms for families of out-of-town or critically ill patients.Area teenagers (ages 14 to 18) who want to gain experience in health care can volunteer one afternoon, evening or weekend day per week (for at least one year) in various areas throughout the hospital.
