CAPE CANAVERAL HOSPITAL

Volunteer details

Canaveral Hospital opened its doors, as scheduled, in July 1962 with one hundred twenty (120) Pink Ladies trained and ready to serve their hospital and community. Today the number of volunteers has grown tremendously and includes active, associate, and honorary members as well as teenage volunteers. During the 1970's, men started serving along with the Pink Ladies and the name for all the volunteers changed to Auxilians. Additionally, the Candy Stripers changed their name to Teenage Volunteers or T.A.V.'s.
