For some, being a Volunteer at BRMC means taking the time to fill a water pitcher for a patient, reading their mail to them, or reading the card from a floral arrangement that has just arrived. Being a Volunteer may also mean delivering patient mail, escorting patients to various departments for testing or to their assigned rooms when admitted. Or, comforting families who are awaiting loved ones in surgery, informing interested families/patients about Lifeline, assisting a patient in need of a wig, or providing service to families and visitors in the gift shop. Other Volunteers may assist visitors with patient room information or use their talent in making patient tray favors for Holidays or just being there for those who are in need.
