Volunteer details

The Beauregard Health System's "Pink Ladies" and "Blue Coats" have been serving the hospital since 1980, with the goal of giving back to the hospital and community. The organization is dedicated to helping the hospital reach its focus of providing "a greater spirit of caring" to patients and visitors. Services provided include helping patients register in the Emergency Room and for outpatient and pre-operation services in Same Day Surgery. At the front of the hospital, Auxiliary members at the Information Desk are ready to assist with patient room information and general information in regard to the hospital. The Gift Shop, located on the first floor, is operated by Auxiliary members and is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information about volunteer opportunities at this hospital, visit the Beauregard Health System volunteer website.

Application process

New applicants must be 18 or older and must consent to a background check and drug test. You must be able to work at least four hours a week. All active members are required to work 50 hours each year. After the application is received, you will meet with the President and First-Vice President for an informal interview. Your application will then be reviewed by the Auxiliary Board of Directors. If approved, a time will be set up with Human Resources for you to complete onboarding paperwork and a tuberculosis test. You will then receive your pink or blue jacket.
