Volunteers at Piedmont Athens Regional range from teenagers to senior citizens and are students, homemakers and retirees, as well as those who have full- or part-time jobs. But they all have one thing in common - they enjoy helping others! About 600 volunteers devote more than 46,000 hours and provide valuable service to more than 50 departments throughout the year. Those groups include the Auxiliary, Red Cross, Teens and Students. For more information about volunteer opportunities at this hospital, visit the Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center volunteer website.

To become a Piedmont Athens Regional volunteer, call the Volunteer Services Department at 706-475-3510 and leave your name, address and a telephone number. An application will be mailed to you. Once your interview and application has been accepted, the staff will help you determine an area of interest and a schedule suitable to your needs. Volunteers must also complete health screen requirements and hospital orientation before beginning their service. Also, due to the amount of time spent on orientation required for volunteers, we ask for a three-month commitment.
